Chris Butler
Director
Hi, I’m Chris Butler, the founder and director of The National Carer Network (TNCN).
I started this business because I genuinely care about people and want to make a real difference in the disability and aged care sector. For me, care isn’t just a job—it’s a calling.
A Life of Service
Before stepping into this space, I spent 16 years as a frontline police officer in NSW, responding to crisis situations, de-escalating conflicts, and supporting people at some of the hardest moments of their lives. I worked with individuals experiencing mental health challenges, dementia, and trauma, learning firsthand that patience, understanding, and respect are the true foundations of good care. These experiences shaped the way I approach support work—treating every person with dignity, kindness, and a focus on their individual needs.
My personal journey has also played a big role in the person I am today. I grew up in a tough environment and lost my mum to cancer when I was 24. Since then, I’ve made it my mission to live in a way that would make her proud—to be a good person and to help others whenever I can. I have a deep respect for women, a strong sense of fairness, and a belief that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and compassion.
Why Compassion Matters in Care
I bring this same philosophy into The National Carer Network. I don’t just want to run a business—I want to build a network of dedicated, compassionate support workers who share my commitment to quality care. Whether it’s personal care, community access, employment coaching, home maintenance, or wheelchair transport, I believe that the right support, given by the right people, can change lives.
As a father to two daughters—one studying psychology and the other paramedicine—I understand the value of education, empathy, and working hard for something meaningful. Outside of work, I’ve competed at a high level in baseball, which taught me the importance of discipline, teamwork, and always striving for excellence. These lessons guide how I approach my work: getting things right, paying attention to detail, and making sure every client receives the best care possible.
